Miami Rowing Club, Belen Jesuit make history. Ransom sailing second. Plus basketball and soccer

The Miami Rowing Club team made history by winning the gold medal in the U17 category of the men’s coxed 4 boat during the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston.

In its 55-year history, this is the largest two-day regatta in the world with 2,488 entries and 792 clubs racing.

MRC rowers participated among 11,000 domestic and international rowers.

On the record-setting coxed 4 boat were rowers representing various Miami schools:

George Pesin (3 seat from Coral Reef), Michael Kourakos (2 seat from Palmer Trinity), Natalia Narvaez (coxswain from Carrollton), Andres Hernandez-Ibañez (stroke from LaSalle) and Mateo Montero Johnson (bow from MAST).

This is the first time a Miami crew won a gold medal in this category, the youngest in the regatta.

The Belen Jesuit crew team made its own history.
