Miami Herald and el Nuevo Herald launch newsletters on Spanish-language media claims
Election season has returned, which means disputed claims abound on the radio and social media, and in private chat groups and campaign ads.
To help voters sort through a flood of information and to create a better understanding about social and political narratives in South Florida, the Miami Herald and el Nuevo Herald will publish a newsletter in Spanish and English starting this week.
The newsletters will be produced by reporter Lesley Cosme Torres and are part of a larger project on studying misinformation and disinformation in Spanish-language media related to this year’s elections. Her work is funded by a grant from the Knight Foundation. The Miami Herald retains all editorial control of the content.
