#%&! Miami Heat fans rank second in NBA in swearing behind a familiar foe

Miami Heat fans like to curse. A lot.

According to the language learning platform Preply, Heat fans are the second-worst among National Basketball Association fans when it comes to swearing. That poll shows Miami has the second most profane fans online with 11.7% of comments containing at least one swear word. Philadelphia 76ers fans take the first spot with 11.9% of online comments being profane. Miami also ranked first for having the most comments containing the F-word with 11.3% of online comments having a mention of that naughty word.

Meanwhile, 76ers fans again claim the cursing crown with 11.9% of comments on Reddit threads containing swear words - nearly one in eight. Heat fans are second again with 11.7% of comments on Reddit containing profanity.

According to the release put out by Preply, they "wanted to discover which fans love to swear more than anyone else." In order to accomplish this, they looked into the official subreddits of NBA teams during the 2023-24 NBA season to find out which ones engaged in the most online swearing. They then utilized AI to "analyze the sentiment of every curse-filled comment, defining them as positive or negative in emotion."

Of course, if the Heat lose to the Chicago Bulls on Friday night and are eliminated from the postseason, their fans probably will be cursing even more - possibly enough to take the top spot from those Sixers fans.
