Most die-hard NFL fans find just as much pride in the loyalty of their team’s fan bases as they do in the teams they root for, bet on and sometimes get tattoos of. But not every team can have the most loyal fans.

Sports betting information platform Covers recently conducted a survey to find the most loyal NFL fan bases in the country, asking football fans from all over the U.S. to answer six key questions about their favorite teams. And Miami Dolphins fans ranked high.

Here’s where Dolphins fans ranked on Covers’ list of the top 10 most loyal NFL fan bases in the country and where Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans ranked on the longer list.

What is the most loyal NFL fan base?

Here are the questions Covers asked survey participants about their relationships with their favorite teams:

  • Do you always bet on your favorite team to win, regardless of odds/lines?

  • Would you ever bet on your rival to win the Super Bowl to soften the blow of them being successful?

  • If your partner/spouse supported your rival and you could convert them, would you?

  • Would you encourage your children to support your favorite team, or let them choose for themselves?

  • Would you ever accept paid work/employment with your rival team?

  • If your favorite team relocated to a different state, would you stay loyal or switch allegiance to a more local franchise?

Based on these questions, Covers found that the Philadelphia Eagles have the most loyal fan base in the NFL. After all, this is a city where the local police grease the light poles before big games, in anticipation of chaotic and sometimes destructive celebrations.

Dolphins fans, who aren’t passionate enough to have the Miami’s light poles greased before games, ranked at the bottom of the top 10 list, in 10th place.

Dolphins fans also ranked among the top 5 NFL fan bases who would stay loyal to their team if it relocated.

Here are the top 10 most loyal NFL fan bases, according to Covers’ survey:

  1. Philadelphia Eagles

  2. Green Bay Packers

  3. Kansas City Chiefs

  4. Baltimore Ravens

  5. New York Giants

  6. Cleveland Browns

  7. Buffalo Bills

  8. Detroit Lions

  9. Chicago Bears

  10. Miami Dolphins

How loyal are Jacksonville Jaguars fans?

Florida’s other two NFL teams, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, placed much lower than the Dolphins’ fan base. Jaguars fans’ answers to the survey ranked the Jags fan base in 21st place. Bucs fans ranked in 25th place.

But Jags fans did take top 5 rankings in two of the questions participants were asked. According to Covers’ survey, Jacksonville Jaguars fans are among the top 5 team fan bases that are least likely to bet on their rival in the Super Bowl and the top 5 fan bases that would try to convert their partner or spouse to cheer for their favorite team.
