Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Will Suffer Technical Problems On Release Day

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection

Konami has admitted that the forthcoming Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 1 will suffer from technical performance issues when it’s released.

Every single game in the collection will take a performance hit, Konami told IGN, from misaligned subtitles and poor translation, to bugs, and even slowdown in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Konami said it hopes to address issues in patches post launch.

The release has already raised eyebrows due to ignoring the original development teams behind the classic games, including series creator Hideo Kojima and actor David Hayter.

Getting ahead of a release date and announcing it will perform badly when you buy it is rapidly becoming a thing, with Paradox warning last week that Cities: Skylines 2 wouldn’t meet expectations. That seems to be the opposite of some marketing strategies, where the team just push the game out after a year of development and hope no one will notice.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection includes Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as well the VR Missions for Metal Gear Solid, the NES version of Metal Gear and it’s sequel Snake’s Revenge, game guides, music and digital comics.

It’s due for release October 24 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
