Merthyr Tydfil: Man charged after crash death of woman, 25

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a 25-year-old woman died following a crash in Merthyr Tydfil.

Demi Mabbitt, from Aberfan, died after the crash involving one car on Swansea Road at about 23:45 BST on 5 April.

She was described by her family as a "kind, gentle soul".

Cameron Jones, 29, is due to appear at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court later.

Mr Jones, from Merthyr Tydfil, has also been charged with causing death whilst driving a vehicle without a licence or insurance, failing to stop following a road traffic collision, failing to report a road traffic collision and causing death whilst disqualified from driving, said South Wales Police.

In a tribute released after her death, Ms Mabbitt's family said she was "a wonderful daughter, granddaughter, sister, auntie and cousin".

"She was the most kind, gentle soul who would do anything to help anyone," they added.

"Our family are devastated, there are no words to describe the heartache and pain we are feeling."
