The JOINT Chiropractic Memphis recently added three doctors to its team: Dr. Justin James received a doctorate in chiropractic medicine from Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri. He is a primary spine specialist and is certified in sports chiropractic. James also serves as the head chiropractor for the University of Memphis Athletics Department. Dr. Tabitha Davis has a doctorate in chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida in Port Orange, Florida. Dr. Logan Shemwell of Oakland, Tennessee, earned a doctorate from the Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida. He is certified by the Titleist Performance Institute.

The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority has selected Marshall Stevens as its new Vice President of Operations. He has more than 30 years of aviation experience, most recently as the Deputy Executive Director for Harrisburg International Airport in Middletown, Pennsylvania, a position he has held since March 2008. Stevens will succeed Terry Blue, who will assume the role of president and chief executive on Jan. 1, 2024, following the retirement of current president and chief executive Scott Brockman.

Locally owned Maximus Building Supply of Collierville announced it is expanding in West Tennessee with the acquisition of the assets related to the operations of Brighton (Tenn.) Lumber Company. Oneal Tankersley has owned and managed Brighton Lumber Company for the past 17 years and has been in the building industry for more than 40 years.

Rhodes College is updating and expanding its long-established Search program with the support of a $25,000 planning grant for the 2023-24 academic year from the Cornerstone: Learning for Living initiative. Jointly sponsored by the Teagle Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the Cornerstone: Learning for Living initiative seeks to revitalize the role of the humanities in higher education. Search is a three-semester interdisciplinary curriculum focusing on ideas, beliefs, technologies and cultural developments that emerged from societies around the Mediterranean, in the Near East, Europe and Africa and that have contributed to the formation of modern America. Students read and discuss selections from the works of philosophers, theologians, political theorists, scientists and artists.
