Memphis basketball will try to halt its three-game losing streak against Rice on Wednesday.
The Tigers (15-5, 4-3 AAC) have not won since Jan. 14, when they beat Wichita State by 26 points on the road. Since then, Penny Hardaway's team has lost a home game to South Florida and back-to-back road games to Tulane and UAB. Their postseason stock has plummeted as a result.
The Owls (7-13, 1-6) have lost seven of their last eight games. Their only win during that stretch was a 69-66 decision over Temple, the only team behind Rice in the conference standings.
