New member named to Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities

The Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities welcomes Emily Meadows, PhD, to fill an unexpired board term ending in December 2025.

Meadows, who holds a PhD in clinical psychology, recently achieved her certificate as a licensed clinical psychologist with the Ohio Board of Psychology. She works with the Marion County Family Court and the Family Resource Center.

"A large part of the work I do with the youth and families in my care involves coordinating systems for the best care. This ensures individual and family needs are met to support their mental health and overall well-being,” she said in a news release. “Having specialized and intensive knowledge in the delivery of psychological interventions and direct experience navigating our systems of care in Marion County, I hope to add to the existing expertise of MCBDD."

"Having a board member with Dr. Meadows's extensive behavioral health background is an invaluable addition to our team," said Cheryl Plaster, superintendent of the Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities. “We look forward to her expertise and fresh perspective so we can better serve those in our community with developmental disabilities who also have behavioral and mental health challenges.”

Meadows lives in Marion County with her husband, 2-year-old son and two French bulldogs. In her off-time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Some of their favorite activities are camping, hiking and looking at nature.
