I need to make this quick, because it won't last long: Today only, and while supplies last, Amazon-owned Woot has the Xbox Series S (512GB) game console for $250, with free shipping for Amazon Prime subscribers. That's the lowest price I've seen, full stop. It normally sells for $300 — and normally is in short supply. Like I said: this won't last long.

The Series S is the slightly lower-end of Microsoft's two current-generation consoles, but it still delivers an amazing gaming experience and has scores of fans. It's also smaller and more affordable, making it a good fit for tight spaces and tight budgets.

Modeled in matte white, the console includes 512GB of onboard storage and comes with a single Xbox controller. It also has a the usual assortment of ports: Ethernet connector, HDMI 2.1 and two USB 3.1 — the latter handy for expanding the storage if needed.

Not included: an optical drive. Unless you have a big library of older games on disc, that shouldn't be a problem — and Microsoft's optional Game Pass service gives you a big library of on-demand games you can download.

So if you've been waiting for an Xbox Series S sale, jump on this before it's gone.
