Melania Trump selling NFT embodying her ‘passion for the arts’

Former First Lady Melania Trump is promoting a non-fungible token platform that is selling a piece called “Melania’s Vision,” which features an artist’s depiction of her blue eyes.

“I am proud to announce my new NFT endeavor, which embodies my passion for the arts, and will support my ongoing commitment to children through my Be Best initiative,” her Twitter feed explains.

A press release says the “breathtaking watercolor art” was crafted by Marc-Antoine Coulon, and “embodies Mrs. Trump’s cobalt blue eyes.” It can be bought by credit card or with cryptocurrency equal to roughly $150. Sales are said to benefit kids in foster care by teaching them computer skills.

“Through this new technology-based initiative, we will provide children computer science skills, including programming and software development, to thrive after they age out of the foster community,” the 51-year-old Slovenian native’s Twitter feed explains.

Be Best is an initiative Trump kicked off in May 2018 while serving as the nation’s first lady. Addressing “well-being, online safety, and opioid abuse” with regards to children are listed as its primary objectives.

“Melania’s Vision” tokens are available through the end of the year. Future NFT offerings are planned to follow.

Both Melania and Donald Trump have launched visual ventures since leaving the White House at the start of the year. Rather than following the traditional route of ex-presidents and publishing a memoir, the 45th president released a photo book last month called “Our Journey Together.” Signed copies sell for $229.99.
