You might know Meghann Fahy as the incredible actress who starred as Daphne Sullivan in season 2 of The White Lotus. Remember those 30 seconds in the season finale where she's talking to Ethan on the beach, reflecting on her husband's infidelity, and you can visibly see her experiencing each and every emotion that comes along with her decision to stick it out with him? A true masterclass in acting.

Well, it takes lots of hard mental and physical work to breezily pull off such a complex role, so Meghann makes sure her health and wellness routines keep her balanced and strong IRL.

The actress sat down with Women's Health this month to chat about her favorite wellness routines, health and workout products, and ways to exercise—oh, and how she made time to take care of herself while filming The White Lotus last year. (Hint: It may or may not have included eggplant parm for breakfast and lots of fun in the sun).

Good hydration is key.

Water, water, and more water is Meghann's most important trick to staying healthy on set...along with some good snacks. “Water is the main thing that I really need when I'm working long days, to get through and just to kind of keep my energy,” the 32-year-old actress tells Women's Health.

Recently, she’s added Sakara’s Detox Water Drops, a product rec from her makeup artist. The tasteless drops contain a chlorophyll blend, which is said to help the body get rid of toxins through the gastrointestinal tract, the product description says.

“Apparently, it's really good for your liver and just general circulation and all kinds of stuff like that,” she says. “So that's a new fun little thing that I've been trying out.”

She loves exercising outdoors.

Walking, hiking, Meghann does it all. The actress says she tries to do something physical every day, and that usually means getting up and moving first thing in the morning. That “just kind of sets the tone for the day, makes me feel like a little bit better,” she explains. (It especially helps her anxiety.)

For workout clothes, she’s a huge fan of Set Active. “They have really good colors and styles and the fabric is really soft and cozy," Meghann says. Cute workout gear? Sign me up.

And if Meghann is heading out on a run, she has a favorite pair of sneaks she loves to lace up: Her Hokas, which she calls her go-to running sneaker. “They're just so comfy and so supportive," Meghann adds.

Depending on her schedule, she will also see her trainer between two and three times a week in L.A. “Usually when I'm seeing her that often, I'm not really doing anything else because it's a lot,” Meghann says. Together, they get after some weight training.

When she is with her trainer, they focus on strength workouts like squats—and lots of them. “As a woman, it's so nice to feel like you're getting stronger,” Meghann says. That’s her main objective. Plus, it helps to have someone else telling her what to do, which is very relatable.

Sunscreen and allergy meds are a must.

With all that outdoor activity, Meghann is sure to wear her SPF every. Single. Day. “That's my sort of must-do morning thing,” she says. Her ultimate favorite is Paula’s Choice Defense Essential Glow Moisturizer. “I love it because it makes my skin really glowy, so you can wear it without makeup,” Meghann explains. Since it’s unscented and gentle, it’s perfect for her sensitive skin.

While outdoor workouts and walks used to be a struggle due to her allergies, now, Meghann is finally able to breathe easier—literally—as an Astepro Allergy partner.

So, another must-have health product is their Allergy Antihistamine Nasal Spray. “This is such an important part of my routine,” she says of the spray. Thanks to Astepro, she’s able to do what “I genuinely really wanna be doing without having to worry about suffering from sneezing and itchy eyes.”

“It's really an authentic partnership because it's [allergies] something that I've struggled with for many years,” Meghann says. Plus, she loved the way the brand incorporated humor into the campaign. “It feels very accessible and cool in a way that usually these things aren't,” she explains.

She's super prepared for on-the-go workouts.

When she’s traveling, Meghann trains with the Sweat app, which offers easy-to-follow workout videos. “It's just a nice template for anybody who feels maybe overwhelmed in a gym,” she says. “That, I've been using for years—I was using that during The Bold Type as well.”

Overall, Meghann isn’t super strict about her workout routines and tries not to overwork herself. “Listen to your body, and if your body is wanting to rest, then don't push yourself to go do a class,” she says.

After all, if you’re not 100 percent there, you won’t get much out, she adds.

Meghann centers her routine around mental health.

Yup, this star is all about therapy. “That has been pretty life-changing for me, so that's an important part of my routine,” she says. She also journals and meditates, and has even done workshops for the latter, but on the day-to-day, she uses the Calm app to do a 10-minute meditation before leaving her bed in the morning.

“Sometimes, people are hesitant about meditation ‘cause they think they don't have time to do it,” Meghann says. “The truth is, you really only need a few minutes, and all it does is just remind you to breathe, which we forget to do, and I think that's a really good way to start the day.”

Her White Lotus sweat seshes included a little bit of everything...including lots of fun in the sun.

In Sicily, Meghann would run on the treadmill for 20 minutes, then lift weights, or do cardio and weights separately on different days. And at first, she says she was really diligent about it. “But most of us just kind of slowly stopped going to the gym towards the end because we were just having too much fun doing other stuff.”

I don’t blame them—especially since the cast filmed from February to July of 2022. “Once the weather got nice and people were coming and the restaurants were open and stuff, it was like nobody wanted to go to the gym,” Meghann explains.

When in Rome, right? “In Italy, all bets were off” when it came to enjoying the amazing food. “I was eating eggplant parm for breakfast,” Meghann says. “We were just eating bread and all of the delicious things, which was so fun.”

Work hard, play hard? Sounds ideal to me.
