Meghan Markle added a personal touch to her new lifestyle brand that you might have missed.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, launched a new website and Instagram page for American Riviera Orchard on March 14, revealing an elegant logo. PEOPLE understands that the text for American Riviera Orchard in the logo is in Meghan's own handwriting — which comes as no surprise, as she previously worked as a calligrapher!

Meghan taught calligraphy, gift-wrapping and book-binding at the Paper Source store in Beverly Hills from 2004 to 2005 while starting her acting career.

"It was her part-time job as she was going through auditions,” Paper Source CEO, Winnie Park, previously told PEOPLE. "She taught calligraphy and hosted a group of customers and instructed them during a two-hour class on how to do calligraphy.”

In addition to her Paper Source job, Meghan worked as a freelance calligrapher — with some celebrity clients. One of her gigs was writing the invitations for Robin Thicke and Paula Patton’s 2005 wedding.

Meghan shared her love of handwritten notes on her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig. "I think handwritten notes are a lost art form," she said. "The idea of someone taking the time to put pen to paper is really special."

Royal watchers got glimpses of Meghan's enviable penmanship following her royal wedding to Prince Harry, from her impeccable signature in guest books (even the Duke of Sussex had to admit that his wife's signature was "much nicer than mine!") to writing personal thank you notes. Even Meghan and Harry's joint cypher seemed to be inspired by the Duchess of Sussex's calligraphy skills, romantically intertwining an "H" and "M."

Meghan's love of calligraphy was also apparent in the crest featured in the American Riviera Orchard logo, creatively combining an "A" and "O" with some extra flourishes. Completing the logo is the word "Montecito," the Santa Barbara neighborhood in California where Meghan and Prince Harry reside with their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

American Riviera Orchard's name seems to be a nod to Santa Barbara. According to Travel & Leisure, the city has been known as the "American Riviera" for more than 100 years "because of its temperate climate and lush landscapes, as well as its robust food and wine culture."

In addition to jams and other edible treats such as spreads and condiments, Meghan has filed trademark applications for exclusive rights to sell cosmetic products, home décor, stationery, linens, wallpaper, furniture, kitchen appliances, beach accessories like towels, yoga equipment, gardening gear, pet accessories ranging from shampoos and conditioners to pet food and treats plus more under the American Riviera Orchard name.

A source recently told PEOPLE that American Riviera Orchard "will reflect everything that she loves — family, cooking, entertaining and home décor."

"Meghan finds the name American Riviera Orchard perfect. It feels authentic to her. She can’t wait for the website to launch," the insider added. "She is excited about her latest, personal venture. This is something she’s been wanting to do for a while. She is excited to share her style and things that she loves."
