Meghan Markle Spends Mother's Day in Nigeria: Here's How She Honored Her Kids

Meghan Markle's Mother's Day was spent out of the country, but she still found a way to honor her and Prince Harry's children!

On Sunday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex concluded their time in Nigeria with a series of events that saw the 42-year-old rocking numerous looks.

In the morning, Meghan and Harry attended a reception at the State Governor House in Lagos hosted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. She stunned in a silk yellow floor-length gown by Carolina Herrera. The duchess styled it with a simple gold choker and her nude Aquazzura sandals.

The dress holds particular sentimental value as the Duchess wore it for Prince Archie's first birthday in May 2020, which was shown in her and Harry's Netflix documentary, and once again in 2021 when Meghan announced her pregnancy with Princess Lilibet.

It's unclear if Archie, 5, or Lilibet, 2, attended the trip with their parents. However, according to People, Harry and Meghan celebrated their son's 5th birthday privately before embarking on their trip.

Meghan added a special accessory to the dress as she sported a shawl that was gifted to her by the governor's wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. Earlier in the day, Meghan's look was more relaxed as she wore a white button up shirt and a blue skirt while she and Harry visited the Ilupeju Grammar School in Lagos, where they viewed a youth basketball clinic.

The royal couple -- who have been married since 2018 -- were invited for a visit by the Chief of Defense Staff. The duke and duchess arrived on Friday, marking their first tour, since stepping away from royal duties.
