The Mega Millions $1.28 billion jackpot is now the second highest Mega Millions jackpot of all time, closely following the world’s largest lottery prize of $1.537 billion that was won in October 2018.

But for those still wanting to test their luck, here’s what you need to know to play the Mega Millions lottery in Washington state:

Where can I buy a Mega Millions ticket near me?

Washington’s Lottery has a complete list of lottery retailers, including gas stations, grocery stores and other shops that sell lottery tickets and scratch tickets. Simply enter your zip code, city, street or store name to find out where you can get your Mega Millions ticket.

Mega Millions tickets can be purchased in all U.S. states except Alaska, Nevada, Hawaii, Utah and Alabama.

How much does it cost to get a Mega Millions ticket?

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 per play.

Players can pick six numbers to play or be assigned random numbers. Five numbers can be chosen between one and 70, and one additional number can be chosen between one and 25 for the gold Mega Ball.

What prizes can I win?

The Mega Millions offers more prizes than just the massive jackpot:

To win the jackpot prize, all six numbers must match the winning drawing.

If you match all numbers except the gold Mega Ball, you win $1 million.

If you match four numbers and the gold Mega Ball, you win $10,000.

If you match four numbers, you win $500.

If you match three numbers and the gold Mega Ball, you win $200.

If you match three numbers, you win $10.

If you match two numbers and the gold Mega Ball, you win $10.
