Here is the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal's boys basketball Super Team for the 2023-24 season. Selections were based on nominations by area coaches.

NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
Darion Duvall, Fr., guard, Abernathy
Duvall started his high-school career with a splash. He averaged 14.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in his varsity debut with the Antelopes.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Ryan Bleiker, Jayton
Bleiker reached the top of the mountain in Jayton's fourth trip to the state tournament, all since 2019 under his direction.
The Jaybirds took down Benjamin 60-53 in the Class 1A state championship, handing the Mustangs their second loss of the season. Jayton gave up 32 points to Grayson Rigdon but held the Benjamin standout to 9 of 29 (31.0%) shooting.
The victory pushed the Jaybirds to a 38-3 record. The team notched wins over two 4A area-qualifiers and 2A region-finalist Plains.
FIRST TEAM
Carter Bovkoon, Sr., forward, Monterey
Bovkoon was the district MVP and a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-region selection. He averaged 17.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals.
Devoryea Boyd, Sr., forward, Estacado
Boyd, the district MVP and TABC all-region honoree, averaged 16.3 points and 7.5 rebounds.
Gavin Broome, Jr., forward, Plains
Broome was the district co-MVP and a TABC all-region pick after averaging 15.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.2 steals. He shot 39.5% from 3-point range.
Caleb Cook, Jr., guard, New Home
Cook was the district co-MVP and a TABC all-region player. He posted 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
Braun Hobbs, Jr., guard, Floydada
Hobbs made the TABC all-region team with averages of 19.2 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
SPARKS OFF THE BENCH
Chase Campbell, So., guard, Frenship
Campbell earned district co-MVP after averaging 12.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals. He shot 47.2% overall, including 36.6% from 3 and 80.2% from the free-throw line.
Colt Gentry, So., guard, Jayton
Gentry was MVP of the state championship game, TABC all-state and district co-MVP. He averaged 15.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
Ryder McElroy, Jr., forward, Farwell
McElroy averaged 19.2 points and 7.3 rebounds to earn TABC all-region and district offensive MVP.
Tim Perez, Jr., guard, Estacado
Perez, a TABC all-region pick, averaged 15.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists
Nathan Urbina, Sr., forward, Olton
Urbina made the all-region team with averages of 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
SECOND TEAM
Hayden Buckley, Sr., guard, Shallowater
Buckley, a TABC all-region selection, averaged 16.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists.
Kutter Houchin, Jr., guard, Idalou
Houchin was a TABC all-region pick, averaging 15.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.0 steals.
Jeron Lawrence, So., guard, Brownfield
Lawrence made the TABC all-region team after averaging 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.4 steals.
Jaibryn Ornelas, Jr., guard, Sudan
Ornelas posted 24.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
Brady Watson, Sr., forward, Trinity Christian
Watson averaged 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block.
SPARKS OFF THE BENCH
Channing Carter, Sr., guard, Seminole
Carter averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals.
Jayden Castillo, Sr., guard, Levelland
Castillo, a TABC all-region selection, averaged 19.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
Trew Farris, Sr., guard, Lubbock Christian
Farris averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals. He shot 27 of 54 (50%) from 3-point range.
Daniel Payne, So., forward, Slaton
Payne, a first-team all-district pick, averaged 14.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
Sean Stanaland, So., guard, Jayton
Stanaland was the district co-MVP and made the all-state tournament team. He averaged 14.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists, shooting 59.1% overall.
THIRD TEAM
Aidan Baldridge, Jr., guard, Hale Center
Baldridge averaged 14.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.4 steals.
JoJo Carrillo, Sr., guard, Brownfield
Carrillo averaged 14.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.5 steals.
Armani Gacanica, Sr., guard, Frenship
Gacanica, a TABC all-region pick, averaged 12.1 points on 42.9% shooting, including 38.2% from 3-point range. He also posted 2.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
Taylor Stamps, Sr., guard, Coronado
Stamps averaged 18.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 block.
Ryan Williams, Jr., guard, Littlefield
Williams posted 12.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

Brazos Beck, Sr., guard, New Home
Beck made the TABC all-region team with averages of 10.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals.
Alan Gallegos, Sr., forward, Plains
Gallegos, a TABC all-region selection, averaged 12.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.7 steals. He shot 55.7% from the field.
Amaree Garmon, Sr., guard, Lubbock-Cooper
Garmon was the district offensive MVP.
Ty Henderson, Jr., guard, Floydada
Henderson averaged 13.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists to earn TABC all-region honors.
Gunnar Stanton, Jr., guard, New Deal
Stanton made the all-district first team with averages of 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
