Meet Greater Fall River's High School Girls Basketball All-Scholastic Team

FALL RIVER — The Herald NewsWinter All-Scholastics concludes with girls basketball all-stars.

There were a lot of great performances throughout the 2023-24 season by these student-athletes. But none did it better than Somerset Berkley's Mia Gentile and Westport's Korynne Holden, which was why they were named the Herald News Co-Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

Girls Co-Basketball Players of the Year

Mia Gentile, Somerset Berkley

Gentile capped off her brilliant, final season with a bang this past winter for the Raiders. The SBR senior captain finished third in the South Coast Conference in average with an area-best 17.9 points per game. She had an area-best point total (357) and was named a SCC all-star for the third straight season. Gentile, who helped lead the Raiders to a postseason berth, also had team highs in 3-pointers made (59), averaged 2.5 assists and had 3.2 steals per game. The Somerset resident will play basketball for Division III Endicott College.

Korynne Holden, Westport

Holden had herself a season to remember this past winter for the Wildcats. The Westport senior captain guard finished her career with 1,111 career points. She was named the Mayflower Athletic Conference Comprehensive Most Valuable Player. Holden scored a team-high 305 points, grabbed 76 rebounds, had 115 assists and an area-best 149 steals. She helped lead the Wildcats to an Elite 8 appearance in the Division 5 tournament. In her junior season, Holden was a part of another Elite team.
