Meet the 2024 All-Greater Rochester Girls Alpine Team
The All-Greater Rochester Girls Alpine Team was selected by coaches with input from Democrat and Chronicle and Daily Messenger Post sportswriters.
Skier of the Year
Year: Freshman
Parents: Diane and Steve Harff
Future plans: Continue to ski, as well as participate in volley and track and field, for Pittsford and eventually ski or play volleyball in college.
Why she is the Girls Alpine Skier of the Year: Sydney won the Section V slalom title and finished third in the giant slalom at the section championships, and qualified for the NYSPHSAA championships. At states, Sydney finished fifth the slalom and giant slalom -- one of only two competitors in New York state to place in the top five in both events.
Year: Sophomore
Parents: Yvonne and Willam Bishop
Key accomplishment: Placing second in the slalom at the NYSPHSAA championships.
Future plans: Eventually attend college and continue to ski.
Year: 7th grade
Parents: Colleen and David Gioseffi
Key accomplishments: Finished seventh in the slalom at the Section V championships and competed alongside her Canandaigua teammates at the NYSPHSAA championships, where the Gray Wolves finished fourth in team scoring.
Future plans: To continue to improve skiing skills and play Division I lacrosse in college.
Year: Senior
Parents: Jamie and Max Heagney
Key accomplishments: Was the giant slalom league champion, finished second in the giant slalom and third in the slalom at the Section V championships. Competed alongside her Canandaigua teammates at the NYSPHSAA meet, placing 10th in the slalom and 11th in the giant slalom.
Future plans: Attending Niagara University to major in nursing and playing Division I lacrosse.

Parents: Jae and Steve Ireland
Key accomplishments: Qualified for the NYSPHSAA championships as a member of the Section V team.
Future plans: Attending college to major in biology on a pre-med track, with a minor in Spanish.
Year: Freshman
Parents: Kathryn and Raymond Kenney
Key accomplishments: Won the Section V giant slalom championship.
Future plans: To ski at the Division I level and compete for the United States.
Year: Senior
Parents: Stephanie and Chuck Little
Key accomplishments: Southern Tier league individual girls champion, placed fifth in the giant slalom at the Section V championship.
Future plans: Attend Hobart and William Smith Colleges for environmental studies.
Year: Junior
Parents: Kim and Mark Maimone
Key accomplishments: Finished fourth in the slalom at the Section V championships and competed for Section V at the NYSPHSAA championships.
Future plans: Start training for next season.
Year: Senior
Parents: Susan and Tom Romano
Key accomplishments: Qualified for the NYSPHSAA championship as a member of the Section V team.
Future plans: Attending college in the fall and majoring in political science.
Year: 7th grade
Parents: Summer and Brian Shull
Key accomplishments: Qualified for the NYSPHSAA championships.
Future plans: To continue skiing for the high school team, maintain a 99.6 GPA and study to become a doctor.
Year: Junior
Parents: Shauna and Tim Welch
Key accomplishments: Helped Pittsford win its second straight title and individually qualified for the NYSPHSAA meet.
Future plans: Attending Duquesne University to play women's lacrosse.
Coach of the Year
Profession: Real estate investor, self employed
Varsity coaching experience: 14 years head varsity coach for Victor alpine; First year head varsity coach at Victor for girls lacrosse; Varsity assistant for two year at Victor for girls lacrosse, 2018 and 2019.
