The All-Greater Rochester Boys Swimming and Diving Team was selected by coaches with input from Democrat and Chronicle and Daily Messenger Post sportswriters.

Swimmer of the Year

Year: Senior

Parents: Renee and Adam Stetzer

Events: 200 IM, 100 freestyle, plus a little bit of everything.

Key accomplishments: Continuing the team's 22-year sectionals winning streak and first-ever sectionals sweep.

Future plans: Study business and swim at Binghamton University.

Year: Junior

Parents: Laura and Dan Braun

Event: Medley

Key accomplishment: 1:55.47 in the 200 IM.

Future plans: After high school, I want to get into the European open wheel racing scene and hopefully reach F1.

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Colleen and William Conner

Key accomplishments: Getting three school records and two state cuts in the same meet.

Future plans: I plan to swim over the summer and lift to get ready for next session.

Year: Senior

Parents: Joy and Jianlin Fan

Events: Butterfly, backstroke

Key accomplishments: Academic All-American, National Honor Society.

Future plans: Attend Swarthmore College, swim for the team and major in political science.

Year: Senior

Parents: Susan and Erik Fix

Key accomplishments: Five sectional titles in one night.

Future plans: Attend a four-year college and study exercise science.

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Debby and Mark Frenzel

Events: 50 free and 100 butterfly.

Key accomplishments: 52.89 in the 100 fly

Future plans: I don't have any college plans yet, but as of right now I would like to swim in college.

Year: Senior

Parents: Beth and Jeff Golembiewski

Event: Freestyle

Key accomplishments: Set 15 individual and team records this season; Received the Swimmer of the Meet award at the Section V Class A Championships.

Future plans: Swim for the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team in the fall as part of the Class of 2028.

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Andrea and Scott Hinds

Key accomplishment: Swam the 100 breaststroke in 58.93

Future plans: Undecided.

Year: Senior

Parents: Christine and Andrew Keane

Events: Breastroke/IM

Key accomplishment: Team records in 100 breast, 200 IM and making it to state finals.

Future plans: Study engineering at a four-year college.

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Carolyn Lewis

Key accomplishment: Swimming 21.81 in the 50 freestyle at states.

Future plans: I plan to compete in more national USA Swimming competitions across the United States and improve my performances with my Rush-Henrietta varsity team, Section V and states in the coming years.

Year: Junior

Parents: Kelly and Christopher Ligozio

Key accomplishments: Class A diving sectional champion 2024.

Future plans: Would like to continue to refine my skills and technique and compete in diving at college.

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Theresa and Jeff McCormack

Key accomplishments: Two-time sectional individual winner (200 freestyle and 100 freestyle) and two-time sectional relay winner (200 medley relay and 400 free relay).

Future plans: Compete in high school swimming for the next two years.

Year: Freshman

Parents: John Miller

Events: Butterfly, backstroke

Key accomplishments: Placed eighth in the state for the 100 butterfly as a freshman and won Section V Class B Swimmer of the Meet.

Future plans: To attend college and continue my swimming career.

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Sarah and George Newsome

Key accomplishments: Qualified for three Speedo sectional cuts.

Future plans: College, swimming and engineering.

Year: Senior

Parents: Nicole and Jon Parkhurst

Key accomplishments: I swam two All-American consideration times in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. My medley relay team also won at sectionals this year.

Future plans: I plan on attending college to study biology and swim on their swim team.

Year: Senior

Parents: Karin and Dale Rehkopf

Event: Freestyle

Key accomplishments: I am the 2024 Section V Class A Champion in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay; A part of the 200 freestyle relay that set a new Section V record, placed 2nd at the NYSPHSAA Championship and got an automatic All-American cut time; Part of our 400 freestyle relay, which set a new Section V record, placed 3rd at the NYSPHSAA Championship with an All-American Consideration cut time; Contributed to Pittsford winning every swimming event during the 2024 Class A sectionals.

Future plans: Attend Bentley University this fall, continue my swimming career with the Falcons and major in Business Economics.

Year: Senior

Parents: Samantha Schafer and Jeffery Southall

Key accomplishment: 21.89 in the 50 freestyle.

Future plans: Navy.

Year: Sophomore

Parents: Kim and Geoff Thompson

Key accomplishment: Qualifying for states in the 200 freestyle and showing significant improvements in other events.

Future plans: I plan on attending college and continuing my swimming career.

Coach of the year

Profession: Physical education teacher at Penfield High School

Varsity coaching experience: Penfield (2000-06), Pittsford assistant. (2007-2013), Pittsford head coach (2014-Present)
