Gandhi's practice often sees patients presenting with symptoms such as chest discomfort or heaviness, especially during rest or exertion. He highlighted the importance of recognizing these symptoms and seeking medical attention promptly, particularly if they persist or are accompanied by additional signs such as sweating, nausea or vomiting.

“If they are having symptoms only while they exercise, those are the kinds of people we want to see in our office," said Gandhi.

In addressing heart health concerns, Gandhi emphasized the significance of regular monitoring and proactive management of risk factors. Controlling blood pressure and cholesterol levels, maintaining a healthy body mass index (BMI) and engaging in routine exercise are key components of a heart-healthy lifestyle.

Gandhi also stressed the importance of annual check-ups with primary care physicians to assess cardiovascular health and identify any potential issues early on.

By staying informed and actively participating in their own health care, Gandhi said individuals can take proactive steps to prevent heart disease and maintain optimal well-being.

Gandhi also encourages patients to prioritize physical activity, such as walking, biking or aerobic exercises as a means of promoting cardiovascular fitness and overall health.

For more information on heart health and preventative measures, individuals are encouraged to consult with their primary care physicians and health care providers.
