McDonald’s introduces ‘menu hacks’ inspired by fan favorite combinations

These “secret menu” items at McDonald’s aren’t secret anymore.

Mickey D’s will debut four “menu hacks” meal combinations beginning Jan. 31, which can be ordered through the McDonald’s app or in-person by name at restaurants.

The Hash Brown McMuffin; Surf and Turf; Land, Air and Sea; and Crunchy Double are now official McDonald’s menu items, no longer the sole domain of creative combo artists.

McDonald’s broke down all the options on its TikTok page, and the fast food giant worked with food influencers to determine which “menu hacks” would be made official, according to USA Today.

While the gluttonous combos can now be ordered by name, some assembly is still required. For example, McDonald’s will provide you with a Big Mac, a McChicken and Filet-O-Fish if you order a Land, Air and Sea, but you’ll still have to mash them all together to create the menu hack.

The Surf and Turf is a double cheeseburger and a Filet-O-Fish (no, McDonald’s did not start offering steak and lobster), while the Crunchy Double is a double cheeseburger with six McNuggets on the bottom. The Hash Brown McMuffin simply adds a hash brown to an Egg McMuffin.

Notably absent is the cheap and popular McChicken and double cheeseburger combination — probably because it’s usually referred to by an explicit name.
