Mayor Cavalier Johnson sat next to Hillary Clinton at a state dinner, posed for selfie
Mayor Cavalier Johnson attended a glamorous dinner at the White House this week — and had "an absolutely phenomenal seat mate."
The mayor beamed in a selfie with his "seat mate" — former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — in a post on X, and thanked Clinton for imparting "so much wisdom and encouragement for now and the future."

Clinton was just one of many A-listers at the state dinner on Thursday, which was held in honor of the Kenyan President William Ruto.
Guests included actor Sean Penn; philanthropist Melinda Gates; former Facebook exec Sheryl Sandberg; and the husband of Johnson's seat mate, former President Bill Clinton.
Former President Barack Obama, who was not on the official guest list, made a surprise appearance, according to the Washington Post.
Johnson also snagged a selfie with country music star Brad Paisley, who performed at the dinner on the White House's South Lawn.
"@BradPaisley, incredible performance — and thank you for the Milwaukee name drops," Johnson said on X.
It's a hint that Paisley might have performed his hit 2005 song "Alcohol," which pays homage to Milwaukee's brew city history:
"And since the day I left Milwaukee/ Lynchburg and Bordeaux, France/ Been makin' the bars lots of big money/ And helpin' white people dance."
