Matters of Graves Importance: Holiday happenings this week with tree and park lighting

The holidays are here and this week Chillicothe offers up Christmas lights, music, and Thanksgiving Eve fun.

Thursday

Name That Tune is happening at Old Capitol Brewing at 6:30 p.m. Gather your team of up to six people and see if you can guess songs from the 70's, 80's, 90's and today. Your weekly Name That Tune with DJ Scott Roush will be held at Dickey's Barbecue at 6 p.m. The event will feature four rounds of music, with a $20 gift card for first place. You can find the music of Minar and Hart at Patrick’s Pub from 7 to 9 p.m. Take a drive to Jackson and join me for trivia at Stockroom601 at 7 p.m.

Friday

Make sure you attend the annual Shine on Chillicothe tree and park lighting downtown. The Chillicothe String Orchestra will begin playing at 6 p.m. at the park entrance on Water Street, followed by a lighting ceremony with Mike Haller at 6:20 p.m. Santa Claus will arrive at 6:25 p.m., and the park will open at 6:30 p.m. DJ Hazel will be spinning your favorite tunes as you enjoy the festivities. I also heard a rumor you can meet the Grinch at High Five Cakes at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. slide down to The Page for the music of Jared Halm and friends. As a bonus, The Marina Grill will be out front for your dining needs from 5 until 10 p.m. The Cozy Inn Bar & Grill welcomes Dan McCarty at 9 p.m.
