Masters 2023: First-round tee times ... Tiger Woods early, Jordan Spieth late

AUGUSTA, Ga. — The 2023 Masters will tee off Thursday with some familiar names making their appearances in mid-morning. Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm will tee off in the early wave, while Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and defending champ Scottie Scheffler wills tee off in the afternoon.

The featured groups of the first two days will be Woods, Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele, who will tee off at 10:18 a.m. ET Thursday; Thomas, Rahm and Cameron Young (10:42); Tom Kim, McIlroy and Sam Burns (1:48 p.m.); and Spieth, Tommy Fleetwood and Tony Finau (2:00).

Augusta National did use the pairings as an opportunity to create some PGA Tour vs. LIV GOLF sub-drama. If it comes, it won't be until Saturday.

Morning vs. afternoon tee times could be a factor, with rain expected beginning Friday.
