Masterpieces on the mound: Vote for the High School Baseball Player of the Week

Marlborough High's Ryan Dillon has been voted the High School Baseball Player of the Week.

The senior received over 16,000 votes to earn the honor. The future Cornell player drove in 6 runs and went 5-for-5 with a triple, 2 doubles and 3 runs scored in a win over Fitchburg. He also had a 3-for-4 day (triple, 2 RBIs, 3 runs) in a win over Westborough.

And this week's candidates are...

Gabe Knudsen + Cole Hendrickson, Hanover: Both Hawks tossed 3-hitters last week. Knudsen struck out 10 in a 5-3 win over Hingham while Hendrickson had a shutout in a 5-0 win over Marshfield.

Tyler Cattoggio, Jr., Bridgewater-Raynham: Cattoggio belted a pair of home runs and drove in 4 RBIs in an 8-1 win over New Bedford.

Connor Grieve + Cal Youhas + Luke Joyce, Braintree: Grieve (2 hits allowed, 9 strikeouts vs. Brookline) and Joyce (3 hits allowed, 6 strikeouts vs. King Philip) both tossed shutouts last week. Youhas had a walk-off RBI single in a 3-2 win over Framingham.

Jaden Lovell + Devon Blair, East Bridgewater: Both Vikings tossed gems last week. Lovell threw a 1-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a 1-0 win over Abington. Blair fanned 14 in a complete-game effort in a 5-1 win over Millis.

Tadd Cavanaugh, Sr., Hingham: Cavanaugh hit a 3-run home run in an 11-2 win over Duxbury.

DC Brown, Sr., Plymouth North: Brown struck out 12 in a shutout effort in a 4-0 win over Marshfield.

Ryan Nunes, Soph., West Bridgewater: Nunes had 3 hits, including the walk-off winner, in a 4-3 win over Fairhaven.

Evan O'Brien, Sr., Pembroke: O'Brien pitched a shutout in a 4-0 victory over Quincy.

Jack Doherty, Jr., Marshfield: Doherty went 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs, 3 walks and 3 runs in the Rams 15-7 win over Sandwich.

Andrew Haddigan, Sr., Southeastern: Haddigan went 5-for-5 with 4 RBIs, 3 runs and 3 stolen bases in a 14-4 win over Blue Hills.

Cole Kelleher, Jr., Middleboro: Kelleher struck out 14 and pitched a no-hitter in a 6-0 win over Cohasset.

Patrick Higgins, Jr., Norwell: Higgins went 2-for-2 with a double, 2 walks and 4 RBIs in a win over Sandwich.

Ted Hipp, Hull: Hipp threw a 2-hit shutout in a 7-0 win over Minuteman Regional.

Chris Aucoin, Hudson: Aucoin threw seven innings and allowed just three hits and struck out six for the Hawks on Friday in a hard-luck loss to Shepherd Hill in Game 2 of a doubleheader after smacking two hits in Game 1. Aucoin also struck out six in a combined two-hitter in a 9-1 win over Fitchburg.

Josh Bouchard, Soph., Bellingham: Brouchard doubled among his three hits and scored twice for the Blackhawks in a 5-1 win over Norwood.

Austin Campbell, Sr., Franklin: The UMass-bound Campbell threw all eight innings for the Panthers, striking out 13 and allowing just four hits and a run in the hard-luck 1-0 loss to Mansfield.

Dylan Maw, Soph., Tri-County: Maw struck out seven and earned the win on the mound and drove in two runs at the plate for the Cougars in a 7-2 win over Wareham.

Jaxon Fertel, Fr., Keefe Tech: Fertel had three hits and two runs for the Broncos in a 15-5, five-inning victory over Worcester North.

Joshua Giancola, Soph., Nipmuc: Giancola stuck out five in an 86-pitch, complete-game, 3-2 win for the visiting Warriors over non-league host Framingham. In a 12-0 win over Sutton, Giancola was 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

Sam Dalpe, Fr., Hopedale: Dalpe was 2-for-2 with two runs for the Blue Raiders in a loss to Auburn. He also tied a 5-4 win over Nipmuc with a safety squeeze.

Matt Mahoney, Sr., Lincoln-Sudbury: Mahoney (2-for-4, double, run) drove in two runs in a 10-8 win over Boston English, two days after he threw a perfect game in a 12-0, five-inning victory over Newton South, striking out nine. Mahoney scored three runs and hit a game-ending home run in the bottom of the fifth, finishing with three RBIs. In an 11-1, five-inning win over Cambridge Rindge & Latin earlier in the week, Mahoney homered and had three RBIs.

Marco Micucci, Sr., Westborough: Micucci singled and doubled for the Rangers in a loss to Leominster and knocked in both runs in a 4-2 loss to Wachusett earlier in the week.

Garrett O’Mara, Jr., Medway: O'Mara provided the game's only runs with a grand slam in the third inning for the Mustangs in a 4-0 win over Medfield. O’Mara O'Mara also tripled among his two hits and drove in three runs in a 10-9 win over Holliston.

Trevor Petty, Soph., AMSA: Petty struck out eight and walked one in a four-hit shutout for the Eagles in a 5-0 win over Douglas. He also had three hits in an 11-3 victory over Worcester Tech.

Arav Prajapati, Jr., Holliston: Prajapati threw five innings with three strikeouts and allowed just three hits with three walks in a 9-0 win over Dedham on Friday. Prajapati also went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run. In a 10-9 loss to Medway, Parjapati contributed two RBIs.

Dean Reap, Sr., Ashland: Reap was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs for the Clockers in a 7-2 win over Dedham.

Dylan Ruff, Jr., Hopkinton: Ruff drove in four runs with a home run as the Hillers bested Dover-Sherborn, 6-2. He also had three hits and an RBI in a 5-0 win over Medway and collected five RBIs with three hits in an 18-1, five-inning victory over Millis, giving him 10 RBIs on the week.

Talon Shepardson, Jr., Millis: Shepardson had a hit and an RBI for Millis in a loss to East Bridgewater. He also had three hits with two RBIs in a 10-8 win over Medfield.

Ronan Sullivan, Soph., Dover-Sherborn: Sullivan allowed just one hit over six innings and struck out two in a 12-1 win over Holliston.
