The Masked Singer’s Poodle Moth Revealed? This Is Us Placing Our Bets
Wednesday’s episode of The Masked Singer (Fox, 8/7c) marks the Group C Finals, giving the three remaining contestants — Clock, Lizard and Poodle Moth — one last chance to impress the audience and proceed to the next round. And for one of those contestants, being part of a “Big Three” is very familiar territory.
We’re talking about the one and only Poodle Moth, whom we believe to be actress Chrissy Metz, who recently wrapped a six-season run as Kate Pearson on NBC’s This Is Us.
How are we so confident, you ask? Let’s start with some of the more obvious clues: On TV Theme Night, Poodle Moth revealed that she has a “very special connection” to Gilmore Girls that “hits very close to home.” We believe that connection is Milo Ventimiglia, who portrayed Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls… roughly a decade before he played Metz’s TV dad on This Is Us!
Once that connection was established, we remembered Poodle Moth humblebragging about the time she got to sing at the Grand Ole Opry. And who has performed at the iconic Nashville venue multiple times? Why, none other than Metz, who documented her 2020 debut performance in this YouTube vlog.
The judges have yet to pick up on these clues, so Metz’s name hasn’t been guessed on either of Poodle Moth’s episodes. We’ll see if that changes when she returns for the Group C Finals tonight.
