Netflix has acquired the rights to distribute Elizabeth Olsen's upcoming family drama His Three Daughters.

The film, also starring Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face) and Carrie Coon (Fargo), premiered at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) earlier in the year.

Directed by French Exit's Azazel Jacobs, the movie centres on the complicated, touching family dynamics between three sisters when their ailing father's health worsens.

Olsen plays Christina, the youngest of three sisters, who's clumsily trying her best to keep the peace with her oldest sister, fast-talking Katie (Coon) and middle sister Rachel (Lyonne), who's been taking care of their dad.

Said to be around the $7 million mark, this is the fourth major deal struck by Netflix at TIFF (via Deadline).

The streamer also secured distribution for Richard Linklater's Hit Man starring Glen Powell and Adria Arjona for $20 million, and Anna Kendrick's directorial debut Woman of the Hour for over $10 million, as well as documentary Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa, about the first Nepali woman to survive reaching the summit of Mount Everest.

Ahead of the film's TIFF premiere, Jacobs took to Instagram to reveal he'd written His Three Daughters with its three leads in mind, as well as for Babylon's Jovan Adepo, who plays the role of Benji.

"I wrote His Three Daughters with [Natasha Lyonne], Elizabeth Olsen, [Carrie Coon] and [Jovan Adepo] in mind," the filmmaker wrote in the caption, also showing his support for the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

"They are this film's foundation, and because of their involvement, it guaranteed me a level of creative control very rare nowadays. This is just one of the many reasons I support @sagaftra fight for human & artistic rights."

Jacobs previously worked with both Olsen and Adepo on Facebook Watch series Sorry For Your Loss.

A release date for His Three Daughters is to be announced.
