Souphakhot won the online poll with just over 35% of the votes with 639 to earn girls Athlete of the Week. York lacrosse player Ava Fontaine finished second with 527 votes.

Portsmouth lacrosse player Sage Bussiere had 262 votes, Oyster River softball player Morgan Trela had 245 votes and St. Thomas Aquinas lacrosse player Charlotte De Tolla had 134 votes.

Souphakhot pitched a no-hitter and struck out 10 batters, and also hit a two-run homer and scored three runs in the Mules' 6-1 Division IV semifinal win over Pittsburg-Canaann. In the Division IV state championship game, she allowed three runs on five hits and struck out 12 batters and also had a hit as the Mules lost to Woodsville, 3-0.

"She earned the recognition," Newmarket head coach Todd Berry said. "As for the season, she had a tremendous year on the mound and at the plate leading the team in every statistical category. Most importantly, she has grown tremendously. She is the team leader, and she should be proud of how she performed and represent Newmarket this year."

Clark won the online poll with nearly 35% of the votes with 428 to win boys Athlete of the Week. Portsmouth lacrosse player Ben Purcell had 360 votes to finish second.

Oyster River baseball player Cam Sengenberger had 199 votes, York baseball player Jack Joyce and Winnacunnet track and field Wyatt Patterson had 55 votes.

Clark won the 100-meter dash (10.59 seconds) this past Saturday at the New England High School outdoor track and field championship at the University of New Hampshire, beating out a field of 32 contestants.

"Andre is certainly a deserving recipient. He’s had one of the best sprint seasons in Maine state history, breaking the 100-meter dash record and qualifying for the New Balance Nationals in Philadelphia," Marshwood head coach Matt Sanzone said. "He was the state champion in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and anchored the state champion 4x100 relay. He was also the (New England) champion in the 100-meter dash. Despite all of his achievements, Andre is a humble, team-first athlete who cares about the success of his teammates as much as his own."
