Married at First Sight UK star Shona Manderson has addressed her relationship with Brad Skelly following their exit from the show.

Channel 4 previously confirmed that Brad and Shona had been asked to exit the experiment after the couple's relationship was deemed "unhealthy".

In a series of Instagram posts, Shona has now opened up about her time on the programme, sharing that it has been "uncomfortable" for her to watch the episodes back.

"It's difficult to see what everyone else could see and what you are watching play out now," she wrote in a lengthy caption alongside a still from the show.

"I could honestly write so much as there are so many factors involved with what goes down within our pairing, a lot of things which happen off camera and things that aren't aired.. the good and the ugly.

"Most importantly I need to remember how far I've come since then. I've truly learnt so much on this journey, it's been a huge lesson for me and it actually has been a very, very happy ending. You grow through what you go through and never again will I put up with this behaviour."

In another post, Shona wrote that she is choosing to learn from her experience on MAFS, adding: "I don't need to change for anyone and I'll never let somebody make me feel inadequate to them if it’s intentional or not."

The reality star also insisted that her posts were not an invitation to comment about Brad, highlighting that she wanted to share her experience and focus on her growth.

"It's important to address the behaviour but not attack the person," she wrote. "This is about my growth and discovery."

During Wednesday's (October 4) commitment ceremony, Brad's behaviour towards Shona was addressed by the experts after he accused her of being "emotionally immature".

"I want to make sure you're aware of the language you're using with her and giving her the space to think for herself," Mel Schilling said. "We're calling this out because these are the kind of patterns that can become dangerous between two people."

Brad has since responded to the episode on social media, stating that he takes "full responsibility" for his actions.

"It doesn't disregard my actions being what they've been but everything I'm doing is with the intention to help - there's never any malice at all. I'm not a controlling person at all," he wrote in an Instagram story.

Channel 4 also responded to the couple's exit, saying that producers, the relationship experts and an independent psychologist agreed it was the best decision for the welfare of both Shona and Brad: "The relationships on Married at First Sight UK are closely monitored off screen by production and an independent psychologist. If any of the relationships develop in a way that is deemed to be potentially unhealthy for either party, we would take expert psychological advice as to whether it was time for them to leave the process.

"The welfare of all contributors on Married at First Sight UK is our top priority and we ensure that appropriate support is available to contributors at all times during filming, including 24/7 access to a member of the welfare team or psych support."

Married at First Sight UK airs on E4 in the UK. Married at First Sight Australia airs on Nine Network in Australia and E4 in the UK.
