Emerald Fennell's psychological thriller, Saltburn, has gotten a lot of buzz (and Golden Globe noms) this year for good reason: Its bizarre and disturbing plot, and a major twist at the end, have the entire Internet weighing in on the film.
The movie follows a lonely young man named Oliver who befriends a very wealthy classmate at Oxford named Felix. Felix invites Oliver to visit his home—Saltburn—for the summer. The estate is basically an old castle, and Oliver gets a taste of Felix's decadent lifestyle for a little while, bonding with his family and enjoying a summer of lounging around. But, of course, with wealth and power come raucous parties, sexual escapades, and some unexpected plot twists.
The movie is also packed with big names: Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, and Carey Mulligan, to name a few. So, with all the talk surrounding Saltburn, it’s understandable to have questions about when you will be able to watch it at home.

What is Saltburn about?
Oxford student Oliver Quick is a strange, lonely boy who becomes friends with his super-popular classmate, Felix Catton, after lending him his bike. The two get very close, very quickly, and become each other's best friends. But they're also polar opposites, from the way they dress, to the way they look, and their socioeconomic status. Early on, Oliver tells Felix he is at school on a scholarship and shares that his parents have a history of substance abuse and mental health issues, noting that his home life isn't great. At one point before finals, he tells Felix his dad has died, and his mom is distraught.
After a rough exams period, Felix invites Oliver to visit his home for the summer, and that’s when things get really bizarre. There are a lot of sexually charged scenes and viewers see that Oliver is obsessed with Felix. But Oliver isn't exactly who he claims to be, and things quickly unravel at his birthday party.
