Marjorie Taylor Greene’s husband files for divorce

It’s not easy being Greene.

The husband of outspoken Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene filed for divorce Wednesday, according to the pair’s hometown paper, the Rome News-Tribune.

Perry Greene, who has stood by the bombastic far-right wing politician through 27 years of marriage, reportedly said their union is “irretrievably broken” and filed a motion to seal his filing, which he said contains sensitive information.

Greene has made headlines regularly since taking office in 2021, largely for her sensational attacks on other lawmakers including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has called her conservative counterpart “deeply unwell.”

Bizarre social media claims and videos made before Greene came to power also show the fervent Donald Trump loyalist engaging in odd behavior such as the harassment of school shooting survivors she blamed for supporting gun safety legislation.

She had also suggested space lasers owned by a prominent Jewish banking family may have been responsible for wild fires in California. While Green has since walked back those conspiracy theories, she insisted during a February interview that the 2020 election was rigged, though confessed “I don’t know how.”

The 48-year-old conservative said in a statement to the Rome News-Tribune that “marriage is a wonderful thing and I’m a firm believer in it,” adding that she was proud to have raised three children with her future ex-husband. Greene’s husband also said in a statement that the congresswoman had been an “amazing mom” to their children.

Greene — who posted video on Facebook seeming to show her shooting hogs from a helicopter — also asked in her statement that “the media respect our privacy at this time.”

“Infowars” host Alex Jones has encouraged Greene to seek the Unites States presidency.

“It’s not something I don’t consider,” the soon-to-be single representative said in July.
