Mariska Hargitay Sparks 'Pure Joy' With Throwback Family Photo

Mariska Hargitay has a very special birthday tribute for her older brother Mickey Jr. 

The Law & Order: SVU star, who is the daughter of Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay, took to social media this week to wish her brother a happy birthday, and she had the perfect family throwback photo for the occasion.

In an Instagram post shared Thursday, Dec. 21, Mariska's parents could be seen in a wholesome family shot from one of Mickey Jr.'s birthday celebrations many years ago.

Then only a young boy, Mickey Jr. appeared to be sitting on his famous mom's lap with a big chocolate cake with birthday candles in front of him.

"Happy Birthday to my kind and gentle and generous and wise brother. @mickeysplants," Mariska, 59, wrote in her caption. "I love you crazy brother. #NowThat’sACake #GoldenChild ✨🎂😘."

Also in the photograph, Mickey Sr. could be seen smiling over his son's shoulder, while standing behind the table and holding another one of Mariska's sibling, presumably her other older brother Zoltan Hargitay.

The young girl in the picture appeared to be Jayne's eldest child from a different marriage, her daughter Jayne Marie Mansfield, whom she welcomed with first husband Paul Mansfield.

It didn't look like Mariska was in the photo at all, as she would not have been born at the time, considering her older brother was still just an infant.

Mariska, born in 1964, was only 3 years old when her mother died in a car accident in 1967. Prior to her death, Jayne and Mickey Sr. were divorced, and the iconic actress and sex symbol went on to welcome son Tony Cimber with husband Matt Cimber in 1965.

Mickey Sr. also remarried after his divorce from Jayne, and later welcomed daughter Tina Hargitay with wife Ellen Siano, giving Mariska and her brothers another half-sister.
