Mariska Hargitay and Peter Scanavino had multiple reasons to celebrate while on the set of their show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit recently, because along with the series' long-awaited return after the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes' conclusion, the show is also celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The show is currently filming for season 25, and Hargitay and Scanavino commemorated the milestone with a photo on set, with the former putting up two fingers while Scanavino put up five. Hargitay captioned the snap, "Just a quarter of a century… no biggie #Season25 #HereWeGo #SetBesties #TisTheSeasonForASelfie #Reunited."
But the choice of pose left some fans confused, with one of the most popular comments reading, "Why does this look like sonny has just been proposed too and showing off his engagement ring 😂😂😂."
Another wrote, "WAIT A MIN. I THOUGHT HE WAS JUST SHOWING OFF THE RING. THEYRE MAKING THE NUMBER 25 SYMBOL IM AN IDIOT HELP."
"Oh yes this is everything and that ring on Carisi finger, so happy he is married to Rollins, hope we see her this season!!" commented someone else.
While Scanavino is married in real life, his character, ADA Dominick "Sonny" Carisi, Jr., is married to Kelli Giddish's character Amanda Rollins. Giddish left the show in season 24, although fans are already hoping for her return.
Many more celebrated the landmark anniversary of Law & Order: SVU, with the official Instagram page writing, "iconic duo 🔥," while actor Leslie Odom Jr. commented, "Big biggie!! 🤌🏾 congratulations, brilliant one. An institution built on your talent, passion, focus, warmth. 👏🏾."
Bradley Whitford wrote, "Congrats you crazy kids!!!" as Rhea Seehorn said, "WHOA!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏."

Hargitay has been a member of the Law & Order: SVU cast since the premiere in 1999, while Scanavino joined the show in 2013. Law & Order: SVU is set to return with season 25 on Jan. 18.
