Just shy of 30 years since its release, Mariah Carey has finally debuted the classic Christmas track "All I Want for Christmas Is You" on an awards show.

The self-proclaimed "Queen of Christmas" treated fans far and wide to a special rendition of the chart-topping hit, with Grey's Anatomy regular and Emmy-winning choreographer Debbie Allen overseeing the creative direction of the Aspen-inspired performance.

Carey is currently in the midst of her "Merry Christmas One and All!" holiday tour, so it wasn't surprising that she opted for a performance that channeled the winter season. In the new video that premiered on Billboard's social media accounts on the evening of Nov. 19, Carey entered in a bright red ski chairlift while dressed in a white minidress and matching knee-high boots.

She then performed the holiday hit to a small group of her fans, who were also decked out in red and white. To add to the wintry aesthetic, dancers skated around the stage, which was made to look like an outdoor ice rink.

Heading into the evening, Carey, 54, was also being presented with the Billboard Chart Achievement Award for the incredible successes that surround “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” According to the publication, the song has hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 every year since 2019—the very first year it made it to the top of the charts.

The previously beloved awards show opted to film the evening's performances and big wins ahead of time, rather than as one consecutive and cohesive event, much to fans' dismay. While we love a bit of innovation, this idea has pretty unanimously been dubbed the "dumbest idea ever," with pleas to return to the traditional televised broadcast moving forward.
