Margot Robbie's Latest Barbie-Inspired Dress Throws Back to Classic '90s Doll
Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley attend the 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards on Jan. 14, 2024.
With 19 nominations, Barbie has broken records as the most nominated movie the in the 29-year history of the Critics Choice Awards. So it's only fitting that an epic night for Barbie would bring another epic dress for Margot Robbie.
The film's star and producer continued her string of fashions inspired by classic Barbie dresses with a ravishing rosy-themed red Balmain column dress paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
Although not mirroring the classic Barbie as closely as some of her other red carpet fashions, including her hot pink Golden Globes stunner, tonight's look bears a strong resemblance the now-collectible Radiant Rose Barbie from 1996.
By Robbie's side on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet was husband and producing parter, Tom Ackerley.

Robbie wasn't the only star showing out in rosy red at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards.
Emily Blunt, nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Oppenheimer, twinned with Robbie. Blunt stepped out with hubby John Krasinski in a red Giorgio Armani Privé look. The stunning gown was embroidered in red sequins and crystals and featured cascading rosettes down the back that could have been inspired by the same vintage Barbie.

Robbie is no stranger to wearing Barbie looks. Traversing four continents, her outfits have often been inspired by Barbie ensembles from year's past.
There was the Schiaparelli Haute Couture black fishtail dress from the Los Angeles premiere that gave a nod to the 1960s singing Barbie. While in Mexico City, Robbie's fetching Emilo Pucci print dress and crimped extensions paid homage to 1992's Totally Hair Barbie.
And remember that fabulous pink suit from the the Seoul premiere that saluted the 1985 "Day-to-Night" collection. And just last week at the Golden Globes, Robbie once again channeled her inner Superstar Barbie 1977 wearing an Armani sequined gown.
At the Critics Choice Awards Robbie presented her Barbie co-star America Ferrera with the SeeHer Award for “advocating for gender equality, portrays characters with authenticity, defies stereotypes and pushes boundaries."
As Robbie explained whenever she saw Barbie in the theater and Ferrera's powerful monologue came on "the audience erupted into applause." We applaud Robbie not just for her fashion sense but for her visionary film.
As highest grossing film of 2023, Barbie has earned $1.4 billion.
