Maren Morris is offering a rare comment about her separation from soon-to-be ex-husband Ryan Hurd, from whom she filed for divorce in Oct. 2023.

In a new interview with Howard Stern, the "Rich" songstress opened up about her experiences with depression over the last several years, from postpartum and "circumstantial" depression in 2020 to the more recent emotional impact of the end of her marriage, which, up until now, she's only really addressed through coy, nonspecific updates, captioning a recent photoset hinting toward her headspace, “Welcome to The End where you can come and lose some friends…”

But as Stern prodded her about her short new do, which she first debuted in an Instagram Story where she dubbed it her "annual existential crisis," she told the radio host, "I cut all of the trauma out of my hair," as they discussed her ongoing divorce.

"I would sort of like this to wrap up," she continued after he inquired about her dating life. "I don't have the headspace for that yet."

She does, however, have the headspace to be writing, which she's done a lot of to help her work through her place in life at the moment. "My way of dating is just through song," she explained.

Morris filed for divorce after five years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences," with neither party divulging additional details thus far. They share one child together, a 3-year-old son named Hayes.

And, of course, another big change in her life is that she's recently taken a step back from the country music scene.
