According to the folks at Instacart, you won't be alone! Based on a recent survey with more than 2,000 Americans by The Harris Poll, "92% of those who celebrate plan to buy Easter candy this year." But which candy will they choose?
The endless options of delicious spring confections have sparked quite a few debates over the years. Which is the best candy egg? Are jelly beans more popular than M&M's? And do people really like Peeps?!
As it turns out, Instacart has the answers to these sweet conundrums—and they might just surprise you! Here, you'll find which Easter candies are America's favorites, including a breakdown of each state's pick.
Just one look at this list of the top 10 Easter candies in America reveals a clear winner: Chocolate!
Seven out of the ten candies are chocolate-based treats, including chocolate and peanut Reese’s, Lindt hollow chocolate bunnies, Hershey’s milk chocolate candy eggs, and Easter M&M’s.
To break it down further, Instacart determined the top selling Easter candies by state. And the most popular Easter candy across the country is…
Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs! It takes the top spot in 29 states! Other candy eggs to make the list are Kinder Chocolate Candy Egg (with surprise toy instead), which were the top selling candy in four states, and Cadbury Crème Egg, which only ranked in two states. While the map shows that America is mostly chocolate obsessed, there were a few states who deemed Starburst Easter Jellybeans the winner, including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri. To our surprise, Peeps was no where to be seen on the map! 👀
