How many Kansans will play for $1.35B Mega Millions prize? See ticket sales from Tuesday

Another drawing for the Mega Millions jackpot is Friday night with a $1.35 billion prize, the second-highest in Mega Millions history.

In Kansas, lottery players aren’t letting a shot at the big prize pass them by. Kansas Lottery reports nearly 823,000 tickets were sold in the state for the Jan. 10 drawing.

Lottery tickets can be purchased up to 15 minutes before the drawing, scheduled for 10 p.m. Central Standard Time every Tuesday and Friday.

For the last drawing Tuesday, Kansas Lottery sold 822,972 tickets for $1,762,081. Here’s the breakdown of those tickets:

  • 2,050 tickets were Just the Jackpot purchases with two plays

  • 703,760 tickets were the standard $2 Mega Millions plays

  • 117,162 tickets added the Megaplier option

You can purchase your tickets at many retailers in the state. A full list of retailers can be found at the Kansas Lottery’s website.

The chances of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350, according to the Kansas Lottery’s website.

Someone from southeast Kansas won a $1 million Mega Millions prize during the last drawing, but the prize is still unclaimed, according to a Kansas lottery spokesperson.
