Manitowoc can't-miss events include llamas, alpacas, comedy, live music and more

MANITOWOC ― Here’s your look at can’t-miss events in Manitowoc this week. For more events and live music schedules, go to https://www.visitmanitowoc.com/events/.

1. Get up close to llamas and alpacas

Can you spot the differences between alpacas and llamas? You will after you attend the Alpaca Llama Extravaganza at Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, 7001 Gass Lake Road.

Guests from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Jan. 27 will be able to interact up close with these beautiful creatures and learn about their special fibers — all included with the cost of general admission.

On the same day, there will also be a ticketed Yarn Hand Dyeing class using wool from Hidden Valley Farm and Woolen Mill.

2. Laugh out loud at Standup Comedy Night

Laugh along with friends and enjoy a drink at Sabbatical Brewing, 835 S. 29th St., during its Standup Comedy Night!

Hosted by John Berens, the event features a lineup of five comedians from Madison to Chicago who are sure to make you belly laugh.

3. Visit The Granary Healing Studio open house

In case you haven’t checked out The Granary Healing Studio yet, Jan. 25 is the perfect day to do so.

To celebrate its one-year anniversary, it is offering discounted services, free guided meditation with no registration needed, and big sales in The Healing Boutique. The Granary Healing Studio is at 210 N. Eighth St.

The open house runs 2 to 7 p.m., ending with 30-minute meditation at 6:30 p.m. Learn more at https://thegranaryhealing.com/.

4. Hear the living crew’s stories aboard the USS Cobia

The USS Cobia is full of stories from past occupants during World War II.

Uncover the firsthand accounts of what it was like to be part of the crew during her active days with Living History Tours aboard the historic submarine.

Living members of the crew will be stationed throughout the vessel from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 27 to welcome guests and answer questions.

5. Rock out to live music

Unwind this weekend with a drink and live music at several breweries and bars around Manitowoc.

Live music opportunities include the following:

  • Salute to Everyone, 1107 S. 10th St., hosts The Liquor Salesmen at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26;

  • Seven Lakes, 1420 County Road S, Reedsville, hosts Nettle Hill at 2 p.m. and Spicy Tie Band at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 during Winter “Miracle” Splash 2024;

  • PetSkull Brewing, 1015 Buffalo St., hosts Southbound Milwaukee at 4 p.m. Jan. 27; and

  • Salute to Everyone hosts The BrewTones at 8 p.m. Jan. 27.
