A first clip from The Mandalorian season 3 has been released, confirming one character's return.

In the 46-second teaser, Mando (Pedro Pascal) is speaking with Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), who was last seen in the fourth episode of the second season.

He urges Mando and Grogu to remain where they are for their own safety, with the former being deemed an apostate after he removed his helmet. Whilst Mando and Greef are conversing, Grogu is his usual playful self, spinning in the chair and nabbing himself some snacks from a bowl on the table.

Ahead of the third season, which will premiere on March 1, Pascal revealed that donning Mando's heavy armour takes a physical toll during filming, saying: "It's like putting on a head-to-toe glove with weights on it.

"It's ironic that you can't see any facial expression because it puts you in the world so completely, and instantly makes the character feel real – but you can't see shit," he continued.

"They've continued to finesse and make it more comfortable, but it's like going blind.

"Your breath completely fogs up the narrow slit that you can see through. There's no peripheral vision. If there's a hole, I'm gonna fall into it."

The upcoming episodes will see Mando and Grogu resume their feud with Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), who recently said The Mandalorian season 3 will be "off the chain".

"I just think that the show gets more expanded and more visually profound with each season," he said.

"I think it's the vision of Jon Favreau and David Filoni, certainly, that begins that expansion... All of a sudden, the world just came at you in a much more intense [way].

"What I love about this show, it is about our army, is about all of us who are starting to understand, once again, it's for the people and by the people... You're going to love it."

The Mandalorian seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Disney+, where season 3 premieres on March 1. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
