Man tried to rob Palmyra bank via drive-thru with note threatening a bomb: police

Police are asking for help in finding suspects who attempted to rob a local bank via its drive-through window.

According to a news release, North Londonderry Police were dispatched to the Northwest Bank on Main Street in Palmyra at approximately 10:09 a.m. Thursday. The suspects had already fled when police arrived.

An investigation determined that a 2016 or newer model red Honda Civic hatchback pulled into the drive-through, and the driver of the car passed a note to the teller through the chute, demanding cash and claiming to have a bomb, police said.

The vehicle left the scene, last seen going south on Plaza Drive after the teller summoned a manager to read the note. Police said they obtained further information indicating that the vehicle might have been last seen traveling south on Forge Road towards Campbelltown.

Video surveillance photos from the bank show that the driver of the vehicle appears to be a man in his 20s to 30s with blonde facial hair on his chin and a thin blonde mustache. The driver was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and a royal blue baseball cap.

The surveillance photos also show that there was a passenger wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.
