Man killed, person injured in West End shooting

A man is dead and a second person is injured after a shooting in the West End on Tuesday night.

Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Findlay Street at 11:20 p.m. for an alert from ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection system. Officers located a crime scene, but no victims were present, according to the Cincinnati Police Department.

A short time later, a gunshot victim arrived by private vehicle at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The victim died shortly after and has been identified as Samuel Ushery, 42, police said.

A second gunshot victim arrived by private vehicle at Good Samaritan Hospital and was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

No suspect information was released.

The investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is ongoing. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 513-352-3542.
