Recent crime in Glenwood South

It’s the second straight weekend with a shooting reported in the popular entertainment and nightlife district.

Last Saturday, a person was shot and injured on the 400 block of Peace Street, police confirmed to The N&O previously.

The news of another shooting in the entertainment and nightlife district comes as drugs were seized by authorities at two Glenwood South restaurants in recent days.

N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement authorities charged employees of Botanical Lounge and Armadillo Grill with trafficking and selling drugs, officials said Friday.

Cocaine and marijuana were seized, as well as non-tax-paid alcoholic beverages.

A triple shooting on Glenwood Avenue was reported on June 11 just one block over near West Front Street. One man has been charged in that shooting.
