A young Florida man now faces a felony charge after “vulgar statements” about The Sunshine State took a turn.

Alex Lasnik, 27, faces a third-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, according to Lee County court records obtained Friday by the Miami Herald.

The charge stems from a caller on Wednesday morning reporting a “disturbance involving weapons” at a Marathon gas station in Cape Coral in the southwest part of the state, near Fort Myers, according to an arrest report obtained by the outlet.

Following an argument with the gas station clerk, Lasnik left “making vulgar statements about Florida and being extremely loud,” according to the caller — who was listed in the report as “the victim.”

That individual told the suspect to return to his state if he takes such issue with Florida, a suggestion which the affidavit said “upset” Lasnik, who police say then reached inside his nearby car to retrieve a handgun.

The authorities said Lasnik — a Cape Coral resident — then cocked the weapon, pointing it at the victim’s face, according to the paper.

After his arrest at his nearby home, Lasnik was held at Lee County Jail on $15,000 bail and released Thursday afternoon, according to the outlet.
