Man dies in gun attack in Dublin

A man has been shot dead in Drimnagh in Dublin.

It happened on the Knocknarea Road at about 00:15 local time on Monday, according to Gardaí (Irish police).

Three men have been arrested as part of the investigation and officers have set up an incident room at Sundrive Road Garda Station.

The victim's body remains at the scene which is currently preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.

A post-mortem examination is being arranged.

Gardaí have appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
