Man dies following farming accident

A 57-year-old Greenwood Township man died following a farming accident, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff Department.

Rescue crews responded to the 8000 block of Logana Road about 6:30 p.m. Friday to a report of the unresponsive man who was located in a field by his 23-year-old son.

"Upon investigating the incident, it was determined that a 57-year-old Greenwood Township man had been tilling a field when he fell from and was run over by the tractor he was operating," the sheriff department said in a news release.

Tri-Hospital EMS transported the man to McLaren Port Huron where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in this incident.
