Man charged over fatal dog walker shooting

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a Perthshire dog walker.

The 75-year-old is accused of killing Brian Low near Aberfeldy three months ago.

His death was initially thought to be "medical-related" but an examination later found he had actually been shot.

The man will appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday.

Mr Low, 65, had worked at the Edradynate Estate for more than 20 years until his retirement in February last year.

His body was found in the Pitillie area on the outskirts of the town on 17 February, three days before his 66th birthday.

Mr Low’s death certificate, seen by BBC Scotland News, confirmed he died of a shotgun wound to the neck and chest.

Police Scotland said a report had been sent to the procurator fiscal.
