Man charged with manslaughter in deadly hit-and-run crash in Rochester

A man accused of crashing into another vehicle on Brown Street, killing a woman, has been indicted for causing the fatal crash in 2022, according to Rochester police.

Timothy Tabron, 30, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident, both felonies, when an indictment was unsealed Wednesday morning in Monroe County Court., said Capt. Greg Bello of the Rochester Police Department.

Tabron is accused of racing his car "at a high rate of speed" alongside a second car on Brown Street around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 26, 2022, when he crashed into a vehicle driven by Alivia Curl, 30, as she was turning onto Brown Street from Eddy Street, Bello said. Curl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tabron allegedly fled the scene. An inmate who was already in the Monroe County Jail on unrelated charges, Tabron is being held without bail, Bello said.

Police continue to investigate the crash. No further details were released.
