Man charged with firearms offences after crash
Police investigating a crash in Birmingham have charged a man with firearms offences.
A Nissan Micra was being pursued by officers when it crashed with another vehicle on Edward Road at the junction with Lincoln Street in Balsall Heath on Thursday.
The 28-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of ammunition without a certificate.
He is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday.
A teenage passenger, who suffered serious injuries after he was thrown from the Micra, was also arrested on suspicion of possessing of a firearm.
He remains in hospital in a stable condition, West Midlands Police said.
Officers continue to search for a third person who ran off from the vehicle.
