“AVOID THE AREA and join us in condemning this action,” Firefighters tweeted as they waited for the climber to reach the top of the tower, where he was taken into custody.

CBS in San Francisco reports that the Salesforce Tower is the second tallest building west of the Mississippi River. The building’s website claims that to reach the top floor by elevator takes 39 seconds.

The climber, identified as Maison DeChamps, is a 23-year-old activist who appears to scale tall buildings to draw attention to political causes. SF Gate reports that first responders were notified a man was climbing the skyscraper at 9:21 a.m. At 10:56 a.m., firefighters tweeted the climber was “with” police.
